Una tormenta de nieve en la Navidad de 2005 en el Pirineo Francés obligó a Juan José González a mantenerse a resguardo de las inclemencias del tiempo en casa de la pintora Michèle PIERRON, momento en el que descubre la acuarela, los colores, sus mezclas y su hasta ahora desconocida facilidad para el dibujo.
De forma autodidacta se inicia también en el acrílico y no es hasta mayo de 2006 que toma cortos meses de clases con el profesor de bellas artes José María González que le descubre el óleo, con el que logra sentirse más cómodo. Más tarde participa de forma esporádica, y cuando las agotadoras temporadas de trabajo se lo permiten, en el taller de pintura en la Asociación de Vecinos "LA BARCA" con José Ramón Hernández.
- En Abril de 2016 participa en la exposición colectiva de La Ranilla Espacio Cultural.
- En Octubre de 2016 concurre al Festival Puerto de la Cruz en flor.
- En Enero de 2019 expone en "El Museo del Pescador" en Puerto de Santiago (SANTIAGO DEL TEIDE), su obra bajo el título "PINCELADAS DE DESCONEXIÓN".
- En Abril de 2019 participa en la Exposición colectva "REINTERPRETANDO A MANRIQUE" dentro de la programación del Festival Internacional de Arte & Igualdad 2019, en el Catillo San Felipe, en Puerto de la Cruz.
- En Diciembre de 2019 participa en la Exposición colectva "ARTE en el interior", en el Catillo San Felipe, en Puerto de la Cruz.
Actualmente se siente atraído por el dibujo y los retratos a lápiz, y se mantiene creando y experimentando con nuevas técnicas, sin abandonar el pincel.

A snow storm at Christmas 2005 in the French Pyrenees forced Juan José González to stay safe from the inclement weather in the house of the painter Michèle PIERRON, at which point he discovered watercolour, colours, their mixtures and his unknown ease of drawing.
Self-taught, he also started with acrylic and it wasn´t until May 2006 after taking a few short months of classes with José María González, a teacher of the fine arts, that he discovered oils, in which he felt more comfortable. Later he sporadically participated in the Neighbourhood Association´s painting workshop "LA BARCA" when the season´s exhausting workload would allow him.
- In April 2016 he participated in the La Ranilla Espacio Cultural collective exhibition.
- In October of the same year attendet the Puerto de la Cruz Festival in bloom.
- In January 2019 he exhibited his work under the title "BRUSHES OF DISCONNECTION" in "El Museo del Pescador" in Puerto de Santiago (SANTIAGO DEL TEIDE)
- In April 2019 he participated in the Collective Exhibition "REINTERPRETANDO A MANRIQUE" within the programming of the International Festival of Art & Equality 2019, in the San Felipe Catillo, in Puerto de la Cruz.
- In December 2019 he participated in the Collective Exhibition "ARTE en el interior", in the San Felipe Catillo, in Puerto de la Cruz.
Nowadays, he is attracted to drawing and pencil portraits, and continues to create and experiment with new techniques, without abandoning the brush.
